Space & Time

in the Realm of Spirit & Cosmos

🌈 1: Like psychedelics, meditation can alter space and time. So, begin or deepen a meditation practice. It looks different for everyone and it’s an important integration tool.

Books: send us your suggestions – we tried to limit our initial reading list.

  • Astrophysics For People in a Hurry – by Neil deGrasse Tyson: What is the nature of space and time? How do we fit within the universe? How does the universe fit within us? There’s no better guide through these mind-expanding questions.
  • To Infinity and Beyond: A Journey of Cosmic Discovery – by Neil deGrasse Tyson & Lindsey Nix Walker: enlightening illustrated narrative explains the universe from the solar system to the farthest reaches of space with authority and humor.
  • The Disordered Cosmos: A Journey into Dark Matter, Spacetime, and Dreams Deferred – by Chanda Prescod-Weinstein: a new perspective from a modern feminine star theoretical physicist. Her vision of the cosmos is vibrant, buoyantly nontraditional, and grounded in Black feminist traditions.
  • The Fabric of the Cosmos – by Brian Greene: Space and time form the very fabric of the cosmos. Yet they remain among the most mysterious of concepts. Is space an entity? Why does time have a direction? Could the universe exist without space and time? Can we travel to the past?
  • The Order of Time – by Carlo Rovelli: Why do we remember the past and not the future? What does it mean for time to “flow”? Do we exist in time or does time exist in us? In lyric, accessible prose, Carlo Rovelli invites us to consider questions about the nature of time.
  • Beyond Time and Space: Hindu Science of Multiverses and Quantum Physics – by Abishek Srivastava: Stepping outside of western perspectives, a really cool way to understand Hindu cosmology and how it could overlap with modern scientific discoveries.
  • Inner Paths to Outer Space by Luna, Strassman, Wojtowicz: Journeys to Alien Worlds through Psychedelics and Other Spiritual Technologies. Presents evidence that other worlds experienced through consciousness-altering are often as real as those perceived with our five senses.
