  • Flametree Publishing Collections: check out this series of myths, ancient origins, folk legends and fairy tales from many global cultures. This can be a great place to start some research into beings of cultural pathways that come up for you.
  • The Seven Types of Spirit Guides – by Yamile Yemoonyah: Interesting book because it explores all different types of guides from various sources of ancient/cosmic wisdom. Resonates because it feels true that our guides are quite diverse.

Reflect with trusted friends or counselors about “messages from spirit”. These could be projections of your own fear or fantasy onto psychedelic experiences.

NOTE: First, we make no assumptions in this space. Sometimes there can be a tendency to embrace psychedelic “messages from spirit” as messages from an external place or higher being. This can be a good moment to simply inquire deeply within – is this message actually from me? My history? My experience? And if so, what am I trying to say to myself? Sometimes we need help of trusted people and/or professionals around us to untangle the message. That untangling and making meaning is all part of the integration process.

  • Spiritual Bypassing – by Robert A. Masters: When Spirituality Disconnects Us from What Really Matters.
  • Namaste and Other Lies I Told Myself – by Nicolene Coutts: A Sacred Roast of Spiritual Bypassing and Enlightened Nonsense. We like this one because it addresses concept of remaining in truth, remaining authentic to yourself.
  • Awakening to the Spirit World: The Shamanic Path of Direct Revelation – by Sandra Ingerman & Hank Wesselman: Guidance for avoiding common pitfalls of shamanic practice. Instruction for working with your dreams, connecting to your spirit guides, healing yourself and your environment…
  • The Shaman and Ayahuasca: Journeys to Sacred Realms – by Don Jose Campos: He takes the reader on a journey through his own difficulties in the discovery of other worlds, other dimensions, ‘alien’ entities and ‘plant teachers.’ Among other things, he discusses his difficulties in coping with some of the concepts taught to him.

  • Ayahuasca Visions – Religious Iconography of Peruvian Shaman – by Pablo Amaringo & Eduardo Luna: a really culturally appropriate discussion with amazing paintings of spiritual/multi-dimensional entities seen in Ayahuasca journeys.
